Thailand became the world’s only military dictatorship on May 22, 2014. The junta permits no dissent and holds absolute control.
Hundreds have been detained and fled into exile. Military courts-martial are used to sentence ‘dissidents’ to up to 60 years. No return to free elections has been announced.
The rest of the world isn’t aware of what’s happening here.
One Young World, however, should be. OYW plans to hold its annual youth leadership summit in Bangkok November 18-21, 2015 in the shadow of dictatorship.
This is the wrong message to send our bright future.
